Happy New Year!

I hope you have had a nice winter break and are getting back into the swing of things again! I really enjoyed some family time both at home and in England and was in such a relaxed mode, I overslept my first breakfast Zoom lesson last week – many apologies Marion but I’m happy to say that it was only the second time in nearly 25 years 😊.

I’m sure you’re all planning to do more for your English skills 😊. You’ll find some tips in my blog a year ago.

Did you want to try one or two of them last year but somehow never got round to it? Well rest assured, you’re definitely not alone 😊. If you sometimes find it difficult to include new routines (not just English ones) into your busy lives you might like to ask yourself the following coaching questions which I really like:

  • What can I change in myself to actually achieve my aims (e.g. set myself a daily 10 minute appointment)?
  • What could be my first small step in the right direction (e.g. download the TED app)?
  • How have I successfully overcome a similar obstacle in the past? (e.g. I learned a different skill)
  • What is my secret resource I can turn to (e.g. I like setting myself challenges)

I decided last year to read more novels and am actually achieving it by putting my phone away before I go to bed. I so enjoyed reading “Lessons in Chemistry” by Bonnie Garmus, I’ve kept it up …
